Blaney to Drive No. 30 AOL Chevrolet at Pocono
WELCOME, N.C. (June 8, 2004) -- Due to conflicts with Johnny Sauter’s racing schedules, Dave Blaney will drive Richard Childress Racing’s (RCR) No. 30 America Online Chevrolet Monte Carlo in the June 13 Pocono 500 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series race at Pocono (Pa.) Raceway.
“There were conflicts with Johnny’s schedules in trying to run both the Busch and Cup series’, so we decided it would be best to put Dave in the car for Pocono,” said Richard Childress, president and CEO of RCR.
Blaney is the 1995 World of Outlaws champion. In eight NEXTEL Cup Series starts at Pocono Raceway, he earned two top-10 and four top-20 finishes, including a ninth-place finish in last July’s Pennsylvania 500.
