Bass Pro Shops to Sponsor RCR’s No. 07/No. 31

WELCOME, N.C. (May 10, 2005) – Bass Pro Shops will be the primary sponsor of Richard Childress Racing’s (RCR) No. 07 Chevrolet in this weekend’s Chevy American Revolution 400 at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) and its No. 31 Chevrolet in the July 10 Chicagoland 400 at Chicagoland Speedway.

Driver Dave Blaney’s full-time sponsor, Jack Daniel’s, will be prominently featured on the No. 07 car’s lower quarter panels and deck lid this weekend. In turn, Cingular Wireless, Jeff Burton’s primary sponsor, will receive prominent placement on the No. 31 car highlighting Bass Pro Shops ongoing involvement with RCR. The outdoor retail giant is also the primary sponsor of RCR’s No. 33 Chevrolet four-race superspeedway program with driver Kerry Earnhardt.

“We’re always excited to run a Bass Pro Shops paint scheme,” commented Richard Childress, president and CEO of RCR. “Johnny Morris and everyone at Bass Pro Shops are good friends of RCR so it’s always fun to get them involved. They’ve been huge supporters of Kerry Earnhardt and this announcement really demonstrates Bass Pro Shops commitment to our race teams as a whole. This is also a great way for Bass Pro Shops, Jack Daniel’s and Cingular Wireless to explore some potential business-to-business opportunities.

“They’ve got a great race team with Dave (Blaney) and Philippe (Lopez) for this weekend and Jeff (Burton) and Kevin (Hamlin) won’t disappoint at Chicago. These two races are great opportunities for RCR to get Bass Pro in the winner’s circle this season.”

In nine Cup Series starts at RIR, Blaney has posted one top-10 and three top-20 finishes, including a best start of third in September 2002. In four starts at Chicagoland, Burton owns a sixth-place finish in 2003 along with a pair of top 20s dating back to 2001.

“We appreciate this opportunity to continue our relationship with Richard Childress Racing”, stated Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris. “I am sure our many associates and customers who are NASCAR fans will enjoy seeing the Bass Pro Shops No. 07 at the exciting Richmond night race and the No. 31 Bass Pro Shops Chevy at Chicagoland in July.”

The Chevy American Revolution 400 will be televised live Saturday, May 14 beginning at 7 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time on FX and be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and XM Satellite Radio. Qualifying for the 11th of 36 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series events will air live on Speed Friday, May 13 at 6 p.m. EDT and will also be broadcast live on MRN and XM Satellite Radio.
