On Darlington Raceway –“I get pumped up to go to Darlington. It is definitely one of the special places in our sport. Darlington may not be the prettiest place in the world or not the coolest race track in the world, as far as grand stands and suites. When you look at the history or heritage of our sport and the things that have gone on in our sport, Darlington fits in there really tightly. I take a tremendous amount of pride in how we run at Darlington. It’s the toughest race track we go to and when you can perform there, I think it’s a good sign of the strength of your race team."

On the Southern 500 – “This race in particular means a great deal to me. It’s possible this could be the last Southern 500 and if that’s the case, I want to be the one who wins it. The Southern 500 is a huge race. I don’t care anything about what it pays, but getting the Southern 500 trophy is big on anyone’s resume and I certainly want to put another one on mine.”
