The No. 3 GM Goodwrench team won the 1995 season-ending race at Atlanta Motor Speedway with RCR Chassis No. 20 and returned with it the following March to earn back-to-back victories. Dale Earnhardt dominated the '95 race, leading 268 of the 328 laps and crossing the start/finish line 3.74 seconds ahead of Sterling Marlin.
He led the most laps again in March, with 135 laps at the point, and was 4.28 seconds ahead of second-place Terry Labonte at the finish. RCR Chassis No. 20 earned six top-10 finishes in the seven races it competed, including second in the 1996 Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
