This was the first car built with the new 2000 Chevrolet Monte Carlo body. Dale Earnhardt scored top 10 finishes in the first three races he drove it in: tenth at Richmond (May 6); fourth at Pocono (June 18); and sixth at New Hampshire (July 9). Its best run was a second-place finish at Phoenix (Nov. 5, 2000). Kevin Harvick scored one top 10 finish in 2001 (eighth at New Hampshire, July 22) in the four races he drove it. Overall, the car earned two top five and six top 10 finishes in the 11 races it competed in before being retired after the 2001 Phoenix race, where it finished seventeenth.
