Richard Childress Racing became the only NASCAR team operation to earn Winston Cup Series, Busch Series, and Craftsman Truck Series championships when Kevin Harvick drove the No. 2 ACDelco Chevrolet Monte Carlo to the 2001 NASCAR Busch Series championship.
The team earned five pole positions, five victories, 20 top-5 and 24 top-10 finishes during that 33-race championship season, only its second season of operation. Harvick showed his potential the year before by winning three races and the 2000 NASCAR Busch Series Rookie-of-the-Year award.
