This superspeedway car took Mike Skinner and the No. 31 Lowe's team to victory in the 1999 Bud Shootout qualifying race at Daytona International Speedway. Skinner went on to finish fourth. The car was originally built for the 1995 season for the No. 3 team. Dale Earnhardt qualified and finished second in the Daytona 500 that year, in second back at Daytona in July and third three weeks later at Talladega Superspeedway. It finished third in the 1996 Busch Clash at Daytona and, in the car's final race as a black No. 3, finished third in April 1996 at Talladega.
