The Wheaties paint scheme, another Sam Bass design, was run with RCR Chassis No. 29 in The Winston in 1997. Dale Earnhardt was the first motorsports celebrity to appear on a box of Wheaties and for this promotion was on boxes of Wheaties, Honey Frosted Wheaties and Crispy Wheaties 'n Raisins. The team started second, finished second in the first segment, seventh in the second segment and fourth in the final segment.
