Dillon Recognizes Dow Safety Record at Saginaw Spirit Game

While the North Carolina area was preparing for winter weather this weekend, Richard Childress Racing’s Austin Dillon proved even NASCAR drivers have a tough time driving on ice.

Dillon and members of the No. 3 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series team headed north on Friday to visit RCR partner Dow in Midland, Michigan to recognize approximately 400 employees from the Site Service Resource Pool (SSRP) for their strong safety record. The Dow Michigan SSRP employees package a wide variety of chemical products for delivery, including agricultural components, adhesives, and brake fluids among other things. As of Friday, those employees achieved a 485-day incident free performance streak.

As part of the visit, Dillon and the members of the No. 3 Dow Racing team were special guests of the Saginaw Spirit, of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL), as they took on the Sarnia Sting at the Dow Event Center.

Dillon was presented with a Spirit jersey, took to the ice to practice his hockey skills, met fans for pictures and autographs, dropped the ceremonial first puck and drove the No. 3 Dow Chevrolet on the ice during one of the intermissions.
