Dow, RCR and Austin Dillon Salute Veterans at Michigan

The service and sacrifice of more than 1,100 members of the Dow and Richard Childress Racing family will be honored this weekend when Austin Dillon and the No. 3 team run a special veterans paint scheme in the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway (live on FS1 at 3 p.m. ET).

Dow, in partnership with Dow’s Veterans Network, VetNet, and RCR, are teaming up to honor employees and family members who have served.  The No. 3 Dow Salutes Veterans Chevrolet will feature the names of Dow employees, contractors, family members and RCR employees.

The car was officially unveiled Thursday at 7 p.m. ET on NASCAR RACE HUB on FS1. The car was also unveiled Thursday at Dow’s Michigan Operations Center in Midland in front of a large group of employee Veterans.

“In a show of appreciation for the contributions of veterans serving in the United States Armed Forces, and the knowledge and attributes they add to the workforce, it means a lot be able to honor their service and sacrifice through the No. 3 Dow Salutes Veterans Chevrolet,” said Dillon. “The No. 3 Dow Salutes Veterans Chevrolet honors the service and sacrifice of more than 1,100 members of the Dow and Richard Childress Racing family. I have immense respect for the U.S. military, and it’s really special to know that many of the people I have formed relationships with at Dow have served and will be on the car with me this weekend.”

One such Veteran is Andrew Fry, who works as the facility manager at the Dow AgroSciences Pittsburg, California site.

“It is an honor to be one of many Dow employees represented on the No. 3 Dow Salutes Veterans Chevrolet,” said Fry. “This is a tremendous opportunity to preserve, promote and acknowledge the virtues of military service.”

This is the third year that the No. 3 Dow team has honored Veterans with a special paint scheme. In addition, Dillon and Dow celebrated their first-career victory on Memorial Day weekend while honoring fallen U.S. Navy Seal Joshua Thomas Harris.

“Dow employees are the face of diversity at the company,” explained Rich Wells, Dow Vice President of Operations, Canada and USA North. “The perspectives that our veterans bring reflect the rich depth of experience and backgrounds that make Dow a world leader in science and technology, and it is tremendous to be able to honor their service and sacrifice through our partnership with Richard Childress Racing.”

The Dow Salutes Veterans activation falls within the NASCAR Salutes Refreshed by Coca-Cola platform, an industry-wide effort devoted to saluting the men and women who have served this country with recognition events occurring on and between Memorial Day and Independence Day weekends.

The FireKeepers Casino 400 is live on FOX Sports 1 at 3 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 18.
