Race Rewind ...
In this event last year, Scott started from the 17th spot and finished ninth, a career-best Nationwide Series finish at Michigan International Speedway.

How do you think the newly paved surface will differ now that the Nationwide Series is returning for a second time? "It was noticeably faster for everyone last year; I think a lot of teams learned a lot in their first trip to Michigan (International Speedway) with the newly paved surface. So, going back it's going to be a much more competitive field. Teams will make strong adjustments and have an understanding of what they need to have a better race. When everyone shows up they'll be within the ballpark of the feeling they want and then work towards running well, which will make the competition that much stronger."

With Michigan International Speedway being so wide and a new surface, do you think the groove will open up more? "I like the fast racetracks, I hope the groove widens out and I hope we'll be able to move around to race a little more. Typically, the groove widens as tracks wear out. You'll get tire degradation and as the tires fall off, the groove widens as drivers search for grip. With Michigan being a newly paved track there's no need for that, but the grooves will widen out as time goes on."

With the track being so fast, do you use the draft on the straight-aways? "When you come out of turn two, it's similar to drafting of a superspeedway with flat corners, but you have to put a little bit more of a premium on drafting, passing and aerodynamics on the straightway as you jockey for position; which makes it more interesting."

                                           Austin Dillon
                            No. 3 AdvoCare Chevrolet Camaro

This Week's AdvoCare Chevrolet at Michigan International Speedway ... Austin Dillon will pilot Chassis No. 105 in the Alliance Auto Parts 250 at Michigan International Speedway. Dillon drove this Chevrolet Camaro to an 11th-place finish at Darlington Raceway in May 2013. In 2012, Dillon raced this Chevrolet to a fourth-place finish at Iowa Speedway in May and a fifth-place finish at Auto Club Speedway in March.

Dillon at Michigan International Speedway ... In two previous Nationwide Series starts at Michigan International Speedway, Dillon earned his best finish of fifth in last year's event after setting a new track record earning the pole award. He earned a 19th-place finish after starting 37th in 2009.

Etc ...
In addition to his Nationwide Series experience at Michigan International Speedway, Dillon has one NASCAR Sprint Cup Series start at MIS in which he finished 24th after starting 22nd in 2012. He also has two Camping World Truck Series starts earning his best finish of fifth in June 2010, after earning the pole, and one ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards start, earning a second-place finish after starting 36th in 2009.

Going for a Record ... Dillon currently has three-consecutive pole awards in Nationwide Series competition and will set the record for most consecutive poles in series history if he is able to earn the pole award at Michigan International Speedway this weekend. The Welcome, N.C. driver earned the pole at Michigan one year ago, setting a new track record.

The Season So Far ... According to NASCAR's Loop Data Season-to-Date Statistics, Dillon leads the Nationwide Series in Average Starting Position (4.2), ranks second in laps in the Top-15 (88.5 percent), has led the third-most laps (257), ranks fourth in Fastest Laps Run (113), is the fifth-Fastest Driver on Restarts (8.750), ranks fifth in Average Running Position (9.598) and ranks fifth in Laps on the Lead Lap (94.54 percent).

The health and wellness company will pledge $2,000 to CIPT for a top-five finish and $1,000 for a top-10 finish. So far this season, the No. 3 team has raised $10,000 towards the cause. The Childress Institute invests resources in research, education and awareness to improve the treatment for critically injured children in the U.S. and AdvoCare's generous donations are aimed at helping to raise awareness for pediatric trauma, the No. 1 killer of children in America. You can help save the lives of injured children by making a contribution to the Childress Institute in two ways: donate $33 in honor of Dillon via his website, or text WIN to 80077 to make a $10 donation.

Everyone says Michigan International Speedway is a place where you used to be able to pick your lane, but now it is totally different since the repave. Is that true? "Yes, it is. The track is so fast in one lane right now and that lane is going to move up as time goes on, but it's going to take a while. Michigan International Speedway was getting so racy from top to bottom with the pavement wearing out before the track was repaved last year. It will take a few years to get it back to the most race-able it has been, but it is still a very fun race-able track and there is a lot of racing out there."

Marcos Ambrose laid down a 203 mph qualifying lap in the Sprint Cup Series last time he was at Michigan International Speedway. When you are at a track that fast do you get that sensation of speed, or is it all kind of relevant since you do that every week? "Well, you do get the sensation of speed. When you are going down the straight-a-way and things are passing you and you're not seeing them in your peripheral vision, that's speed. So, it makes it fun to go to places like Michigan International Speedway, especially when you carry that kind of average lap time."

                                            Paul Menard
                       No. 33 Rheem/Menards Chevrolet Camaro

This Week's Rheem/Menards Chevrolet ... Paul Menard will pilot chassis No. 107 at Michigan International Speedway. This No. 33 Chevrolet Camaro was previously run this season at Auto Club Speedway. It was also utilized last year at Michigan International Speedway where Menard drove to an eighth-place finish.

The Wisconsin native has completed 877 of 878 laps attempted (99.9 percent) at the Brooklyn, Mich., track, leading 50 of them.

Race Rewind ... Starting seventh, Menard led the most laps (37) en route to an eighth-place finish at the two-mile track in last year's Nationwide Series event.

What are your thoughts on racing at Michigan International Speedway? "I'm excited to be running my first of three races in the Nationwide Series this weekend at Michigan International Speedway. We are taking the same car we led a lot of laps and had a great run with last year in Michigan, so I'm hopeful it will perform the same this year. It's always a lot of fun to run in the Nationwide Series, and I'm looking forward to getting back in the No. 33 this weekend. Ernie Cope (crew chief) and the guys do a really good job every week, and I'm just happy to be back behind the wheel of the Rheem/Menards Chevrolet."
