Race Notes and Quotes:

This Week's Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet at Daytona International Speedway ...
Ty Dillon will pilot chassis No. 011 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Camping World Truck Series stable in Friday night's NextEra Energy Resources 250. Handed down from Dillon's older brother, Austin, this RCR entry was last seen on track at Talladega Superspeedway in October where the elder Dillon drove to a seventh-place finish. This Chevrolet also earned the pole award at the season opener in Daytona last February.

Rookie Stripes ... The 19-year-old grandson of team owner Richard Childress will make his first NASCAR start of the 2012 season and fourth-career NCWTS start when he takes the green flag at Daytona International Speedway this weekend. Dillon made his first career NCWTS start at Kentucky Speedway in October last season where he finished 15th after starting 18th.

Daytona Stats ...
Although Dillon has yet to make any laps at the Daytona Beach, Fla.-based facility in the Truck Series, he made one start at the 2.5-mile tri-oval last year in the ARCA Racing Series earning the pole award and finishing in the 11th position.

Next Generation ...
Dillon and the No. 3 team will sport the famous colors of Bass Pro Shops for the 2012 NCWTS season. The Lewisville, N.C., native joins older brother Austin Dillon, Jamie McMurray and Tony Stewart in the NASCAR lineup of Bass Pro Shops drivers.

Dirt Tracking ... Dillon's 2011 Speedweeks actually started on February 13 at Volusia Speedway Park, where he and his brother, Austin, raced dirt Modifieds as part of the 41st annual DIRTCar Nationals.

Touchdown ... Over the off season, Dillon traveled to Indianapolis, Ind. for Super Bowl XLV. As the younger brother himself, Dillon proudly supported Eli Manning, quarterback of the New York Giants, and younger brother to superstar Peyton Manning. The 2011 ARCA Racing Series Champion cheered on the underdogs and watched as the "little brother" brought home the hardware.

Blazin' Candles ... This weekend's 250-mile showdown will mark Dillon's last race as a teenager before celebrating his 20th birthday on Feb. 27.

Meet the Rookie ... Dillon will participate in a Q&A session on Friday, Feb. 24 at Noon EST. at the Chevy stage located in the merchandise area outside of turn four at the 2.5-mile superspeedway

TY DILLON QUOTES:

What are your thoughts about racing at Daytona International Speedway?
"I'm thrilled to get back to the race track. Flash (crew chief Scott Naset) and the guys have worked really hard over the off season to put together a fast truck for Daytona. I'm ready to get out there and see what we have."

What are your expectations this season?

"I think we can go out there and do our best to be competitive each week. We went to a lot of tracks last year on the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards schedule that we had never raced before and brought home some good finishes. I think with the help of my RCR teammates, we'll be able to put up more good finishes this season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series."
