2014 marks Josh Wittman’s fourth season with Richard Childress Racing, but only his first with the No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet Camaro driven by Brendan Gaughan. The 35-year-old hails from Ashland, Ohio and serves as the gas man for the No. 62 team in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. Wittman’s racing experience can be traced back to his early childhood after growing up at the local dirt tracks. Naturally he considers Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course his home-track and looks forward to competing there on August 16 for the Nationwide Children’s Hospital 200.

Five Questions with Josh Wittman:

What was your dream job growing up?
“Growing up I always wanted to be a cartoonist for Disney. I have always had an ability to draw and been pretty good at it.”

If you were not in racing, what would you be doing?
“If I was not in racing I would be chasing another dream. I would probably be drawing a lot in hopes to be a cartoonist.”

What is the toughest part about your job?
“Lugging a 94 pound Sunoco fuel can around can be pretty tough at times, but I wouldn’t change anything about it!”

What are your goals for the 2014 season?
“My goals are to perform to the best of my ability and kick some butt in the 2014 season with Brendan (Gaughan) and the rest of the No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino crew.”

What is your favorite track on the circuit?
“I have two favorite tracks that we visit, Daytona and Bristol. How can you not love Daytona? Everybody loves that track, and Bristol is always just so chaotic and brings so much action, it is hard not to like it.”
