Ty Dillon Celebrates Earth Day with DRIVE4COPD
Making a difference one lap at a time
WELCOME, N.C. (April 22, 2013) – Ty Dillon and DRIVE4COPD have teamed up to support NASCAR’s RACE TO GREEN™ platform in honor of this year’s Earth Day; which is today. DRIVE4COPD pledged to donate five trees for every lap Dillon leads in the month of April.
During the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race at Kansas Speedway this past weekend, Dillon paced the field for a total of 11 laps during the 167-lap affair. With 11 laps led, the Richard Childress Racing driver helped DRIVE4COPD donate 55 trees to the 2013 NASCAR Green campaign.
“This is a really great cause that we are supporting,” Dillon said. “It’s an honor to take part in the largest recycling and tree planting program in sports. I’m glad we could partner with DRIVE4COPD to donate 55 trees after this past weekend. It’s a great feeling to know we’re helping make a difference.”
NASCAR RACE TO GREEN™ rallies fans, industry and partners around sustainable behavior through a massive call-to-action to pledge trees that will be planted across the country as well as in a number of areas recently devastated by natural disasters. Since its inception in 2008, NASCAR Green has become one of the most powerful environmental awareness platforms in the country. Through an industry-wide effort, NASCAR has the largest renewable energy stadium projects in the world.
