Each qualifying race will consist of eight laps. The top speeds from those races will advance into the main event. The feature race will consist of three segments, a 60-lap race followed by a 50-lapper and concluding with a 40-lap dash to the checkered flag.

Looking Different on Dirt ... The Mudsummer Classic will see a number of changes to the trucks than normal. Some of the differences to accommodate dirt racing will be no splitter and a mesh guard to protect the radiator. There will be a clear polycarbonate deflector (maximum 6 inches high by maximum 18 inches long) placed on the hood in front of the driver to deflect stones from the windshield and the rear of the truck will feature a larger spoiler. Goodyear will also be bringing a new tire based on a Dirt Modified tire.

What are your thoughts about NASCAR competing on a dirt track?
"This is really exciting for not only the drivers but also the fans. For the first time in my life, my two worlds collide and I get to race on dirt and in my No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet. I think it's great for NASCAR and for the dirt racing world. A lot of the fans from the dirt world will come out to the race, and a lot of NASCAR fans will get to experience dirt racing for the first time."

What do you think will be the biggest challenge going from asphalt to dirt?
"These trucks race a lot different than the dirt cars. The dirt cars slide through the corners better than the trucks do. It could be anyone's race, really. No one knows what to expect. We've all been testing and have a starting point, but we won't really know what it's going to be like until we all get out there on the track together. It's going to be a great show for the fans."

                                                  Austin Dillon
No. 39 American Ethanol Chevrolet Silverado

This Week's American Ethanol Chevrolet at Eldora Speedway ...
Austin Dillon will pilot chassis No. 058 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Camping World Truck Series stable. RCR teammate Kevin Harvick raced this Chevrolet Silverado to Victory Lane at Martinsville Speedway in March 2012, after starting from the pole position, and he also posted a 12th-place finish in this truck after starting second at Martinsville in October 2012.

Dillon at Eldora Speedway ... Welcome Back ... The Inaugural Mudsummer Classic at Eldora Speedway marks the first time that Dillon will compete in the Camping World Truck Series since winning the Series' championship in 2011. Since earning the title, the 23-year-old has earned Rookie-of-the-Year honors in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2012 and is currently competing for the 2013 Nationwide Series title while also running a limited NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule.

Think Green ... The No. 39 Chevrolet team will sport the black and green colors of American Ethanol this Wednesday at Eldora Speedway. American Ethanol, a renewable source of cleaner burning energy from the bounty of America's farmers, helps create new green jobs and a renewed sense of pride for the American worker, while helping to achieve greater energy security for our country. Launched by Growth Energy and the National Corn Growers Association, along with the support of other partners, American Ethanol is a breakthrough brand that seeks to expand consumer awareness of the benefits of ethanol and E15, and takes the NASCAR Green initiative to the next level. Since the program launch for the 2011 season, NASCAR® drivers have run more than 4 million miles on renewable Sunoco Green E15.

Road Trip Through the Heartland ... Directly after Sunday's Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland Speedway, Dillon traveled to Eldora Speedway in a Chevrolet Flex Fuel Tahoe and recorded his trip via a series of social media posts on Instagram (Austindillon3), Twitter (@austindillon3) and Facebook ( During his drive, Dillon engaged in a Twitter chat with fans and stopped at an American Ethanol POET biorefining plant in Portland, Indiana. He visited some of the heartland's farmers and helped to spread the word about the benefits of ethanol, a homegrown, cleaner renewable fuel that's also high-performing.

A Family Tradition ...
For the fourth time in their Camping World Truck Series careers, the Dillon brothers will compete against each other doing so at Eldora Speedway. The last time they were both in the same Truck Series event was at Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2011 when Austin earned a 10th-place finish and clinched the 2011 championship, while little brother Ty posted a sixth-place result.

Talk about going back to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for the first time on a dirt track
. "I can't wait. Eldora Speedway is a special place. I've been able to run a lot of dirt races there and sit on the pole at the World 100, which is probably one of my favorite moments of my career. Going back to the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series for the first time is going to be cool. We left the series as champions and now we're going back there just to have some fun and try to win a race. It's a special race because it's the inaugural one and at Eldora Speedway, a dirt track. Man, it's awesome for NASCAR. I can't wait to see the fans out there and hopefully see what turns out to be a good race. We're bringing American Ethanol as our sponsor which works out great because I think the corn growers will really love it. Grass-roots dirt-track racing appeals to a lot of people."

You're a dirt guy, do you think you know more than some of these other guys? "I don't know. I got to test at Eldora Speedway with Tony Stewart and my brother, Ty Dillon. It's going to be slick and these guys are going to be forced into a new style of driving. You're going to really have to work on forward drive and being smooth on the wheel. It's going to be a fun race. I'm really interested to see how it turns out."

Do you like the format? Heat race, consi, feature? "Yeah. It's regular short track racing on a Wednesday night, similar to what you see every Saturday at your local short track with heat races. It will get wild."

                                        Brendan Gaughan
No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet Silverado

This Week's South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet Silverado at Eldora Speedway ...
Brendan Gaughan will pilot chassis No. 004 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Camping World Truck Series stable in the series' first event on dirt at Eldora Speedway. Going Back to Grassroots Racing ... Wednesday night's Camping World Truck Series event at Eldora Speedway marks the first national series NASCAR dirt race in more than four decades and is the Las Vegas native's first time competing at the Ohio-based facility. The Mudsummer Classic will also embrace the typical short-track style qualifying process; running heat races in additional to qualifying laps to help determine the starting lineup.

Not Afraid to Get a Little Dirty ... While Gaughan has yet to compete at Eldora Speedway, he is no stranger to dirt-track racing. The RCR driver has years of experience competing in off-road racing events, along with ample track time on West Coast dirt tracks. Most recently, Gaughan competed at Volusia Speedway Park in February for Team Dillon Racing.

South Point Hotel & Casino ...

The South Point Hotel & Casino driver will then join other Camping World Truck Series drivers during a NASCAR autograph session from 2 to 2:45 p.m. ET at the multipurpose building located outside of turns three and four at Eldora Speedway. In the Rearview Mirror: Iowa Speedway ... Gaughan and the No. 62 South Point Hotel & Casino Chevrolet team suffered damage from an incident in the early stages of the 200-lap event at Iowa Speedway, relegating them to a 31st-place finish.
What are your thoughts on racing at Eldora Speedway?
"I'm more excited for this race than normal. I really wanted to run in the Prelude to the Dream that Tony (Stewart) used to have, so to finally be able to race Eldora (Speedway) is going to be so cool. I also have to applaud NASCAR for putting this race on the schedule. It took big time guts to add a dirt track back onto a national touring schedule after 40 years, and I am really impressed with the decision and the place they chose to do it."
How do you feel about the qualifying procedure NASCAR has implemented for this event?
"The qualifying format, although it may be foreign to some NASCAR fans, is pretty normal in dirt-track racing. It's going to give the fans more bang for their buck and bring a great grass roots element to this event."
