Race Notes and Quotes:

This Week's Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet at Texas Motor Speedway ... Joey Coulter will pilot chassis No. 024 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Camping World Truck Series stable for Friday’s Texas 400. This chassis was built new for the 2012 season and was utilized once at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May. Coulter started that race from the third position and finished seventh.

Coulter at Texas ... Coulter has two previous starts at the 1.5-mile speedway in the Camping World Truck Series, both occurring during the 2011 season. In the spring event, Coulter finished fifth and followed with a sixth-place finish in the fall. Additionally, he has one start at the Fort Worth, Texas-based facility in the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.

Get to the Points … After his 11th-place finish at Dover International Speedway, Coulter remains 10th in the Camping World Truck Series driver championship point standings. He is 57 points behind leader Justin Lofton.

Six Races In… More than a quarter of the way through the 2012 season, Coulter ranks third in Fastest Drivers Early in a Run according to NASCAR’s Season-to-Date Loop Data Statistics. He is sixth in Fastest Laps Run and fourth in Quality Passes.

Rewind: Dover … After starting from the second position at Dover International Speedway, Coulter battled a tight-handling condition on the No. 22 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet. Rain became a factor and the race was red flagged just past halfway. When green-flag racing resumed, Coulter was called to the pits by crew chief Harold Holly, and restarted back in traffic. The race was ultimately called on lap 147 of the scheduled 200-lap event due to rain and Coulter was credited with an 11th-place finish.

Meet Coulter … Coulter is scheduled to sign autographs at the Camping World Truck Series autograph session on Friday, June 8 at 4:30pm Eastern Time at Texas Motor Speedway. He will be joined by RCR teammates Ty Dillon and Brendan Gaughan.

Birthday Boy… Coulter will celebrate his 22nd birthday by making his 32nd Camping World Truck Series career-start in the Texas 400.

JOEY COULTER QUOTES:

With two top-10 finishes in your first two starts at Texas Motor Speedway, how do you prepare this weekend to go for your third?
“I prepare just like I would for any other race. This track has been good for us in the past. We’ll use that success and our notes from those races to help us in our team preparations for this weekend. Good finishes like those give us good momentum heading into the race weekend.”

How do you transition from Dover International Speedway, a one-mile concrete oval, to Texas Motor Speedway, a 1.5-mile intermediate-style track?
“At Dover (International Speedway), you really get the sensation for speed, so it makes you feel like you’re going a lot faster than you really are. Texas (Motor Speedway) is a fast track and a lot of fun to race. The two tracks are very different with different driving styles.”
