Dillon Brothers Take on Atlanta
Austin and Ty Dillon Compete in 3D Dodgeball Game, Rock Wall Climbing, Shooting Competition and Sign Autographs to promote Atlanta Motor Speedway Race Week
WELCOME, N.C. (Aug. 8, 2012) – NASCAR racing brothers Austin and Ty Dillon spent Tuesday, Aug. 7 in Atlanta doing what they do best – competing.
Team Austin battled Team Ty in a 3D Dodgeball game at the Atlanta Skyzone before traveling to the Bass Pro Shops in Lawrenceville, Ga., to challenge each other on a rock wall and a video shooting competition and signing autographs for race fans.
The clear winner in the competition was a group of teens, ages nine to 18, who won tickets to the Labor Day AdvoCare 500 race weekend courtesy of Atlanta Motor Speedway.
“Austin and I are really competitive in everything we do, so we definitely had a lot of fun competing against each other in Atlanta,” said Ty, who drives the No. 3 Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. “Austin claims he won the 3D Dodgeball competition but I got three people out on his team before he even tried to make a move. It’s all in good fun and I hope the kids we competed with had a great time.”
Following the 3D Dodgeball competition, the Dillon brothers met with AdvoCare distributors at Bass Pro Shops to tackle the store’s giant rock climbing wall. An autograph session for Bass Pro Shops customers completed the day.
“It was a great trip to Atlanta and I had a blast trying to climb that rock wall with all of the AdvoCare distributors,” said Austin, who drives the No. 3 AdvoCare Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nationwide Series. “I think I did a good job proving to Ty that I’m the better athlete. I hope we showed people our fun, competitive nature and drew some interest for the Atlanta race weekend.”
Austin and Ty Dillon will be part of two of the most exciting NASCAR night races of the season - the Camping World Truck Series race on Friday, Aug. 31 and the Nationwide Series NRA American Warrior 300 on Saturday, Sept. 1. Friday tickets are $25 and Saturday general admission tickets are $30, with kids 12 and under admitted free each day when accompanied by an adult general admission ticket.
