Rearview Mirror ...
Brian Scott qualified fifth for the Boyd Gaming 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway last weekend. The No. 2 Whitetail Chevrolet Camaro battled loose conditions in the opening laps of the event, but never fell outside of the top-10. The Richard Childress Racing team continued to work on the loose conditions during the three pit stops made in Sin City. The hard work paid off for the Camaro team as they gathered a solid foundation for the 1.5-mile program and finished seventh. The finish is the first top-10 of the season for the No. 2 Chevrolet Camaro, moving the team up two positions in the driver point standings to sixth heading into Bristol Motor Speedway.

BRIAN SCOTT QUOTES:
Are you a fan of short track racing?

"I am, at Bristol we qualified outside pole last year. We had a fast Camaro and I think we have a lot of potential to have really strong runs at Bristol. You also have potential to have something happen and suffer some damage. I think Bristol will be a good place for our Shore Lodge Chevrolet. I'm excited for this short track."

Do you prefer Bristol during the day or night?
"I like it at night. It's just cool racing Bristol under the lights; it's a neat track. Ever since the repave, every time we go there everything is a little bit different. Last year, you couldn't get too close to the wall and the line was as high as I've ever seen it at Bristol. It's been high, but it seemed to be especially high last fall when we raced there. Goodyear is always tweaking the tire compounds to make them better. If they tweak and change them a little bit, everything might change."

 TY DILLON QUOTE:

"I'm excited to go to Bristol and run our first race with Yuengling Light Lager on the car. Bristol has been a really good track for me in the past, I got to run the Nationwide Series race there last year and ran pretty well. I'm excited to go with a new group of guys who are the championship-winning team from last year. We've had a great start to our season and I see Bristol as point where we can really run well and have a chance at a win."

What did you learn last season at Bristol Motor Speedway after recording a top-10 finish in a Nationwide Series car?
"The biggest thing I learned was what it takes for the car to handle to be able to race in the top-five and be able to win. I think I got the experience I need to be able to win a race at Bristol. To be able to run so well our first time out ,I think its a big help for the future there."

CALE CONLEY QUOTE:
How do you feel about making your first Nationwide Series start with RCR?

"I couldn't be happier to be part of the RCR organization and even more grateful for the opportunity to go out and prove what I've got. That's kind of the good part of it, feelin the pressure that comes into this weekend. All through my racing career, I've been thrown to the wolves and I'm OK with that happenin. I like the challenge. I'm used to this feeling from being with th World of Outlaws to the K&N Series. It's part of it, and you have to do well in order to keep moving up."

How have you prepared for this weekend?
"I've been preparing by being at the track with the No. 33 team and studying in-car footage. I've also been training and conditioning in RCR's gym to be in the best shape from flag -o-flag. It's been a whole new experience so far, and I can't wait to get on track this weekend."

BRENDAN GAUGHAN QUOTES:
What are your thoughts on Bristol and how has it changed over the years?

"I love Bristol and really enjoy this generation of Bristol better than the single groove, bottom groove generation. You can finally pass people, who would have ever thought that you could be two and three-wide at a place like Bristol Motor Speedway. That is what makes it so much fun, you can race the competition instead of wrecking them."

Is it frustrating as a driver that it can take 15-20 laps to pass someone since the high line is preferred?
"It is frustrating because, back in the day, I would be the only guy up top, so it's very frustrating to me. I wish they would all go back to the bottom and stay out of my way, but that is racing. That is what we are supposed to do; it is not something that is supposed to be easy. Racing is meant to be tough and you have to learn the different lines to run and how to get by people."
