Five questions with Richard Boyles
How did you get into racing?
My Dad helped me get a job at Hedgecock Racing building late models. I was given the opportunity to change tires in 1996 at Bill Davis Racing through Chris Hussey.
What is the toughest part of your job?
The toughest part of my job is being away from my family, my wife and my seven-year-old twin boys, Adam and Michael. I’ve been in the sport for more than 20 years, and sometimes the drivers make your job a little tough.
What is your favorite track on the circuit?
What are some of your most memorable racing moments?
I was lucky enough to work with Adam Petty before he passed. Winning Bristol in 2008 with Brad Keselowski after we started 37th in the No. 88 Nationwide Series car was another memorable moment.
What are your hobbies when you are not racing?
My hobbies include coaching my boys in sports and building late models. I also enjoy Remote Control car racing and cooking.
