 "A good driver can really help a spotter as far as knowing where there are holes in the line of cars at a small track like Bristol. Things can happen so fast at Bristol. A driver can get hung out to dry on a restart if the driver is on the outside of the line. If a driver is on the outside on a restart, they can lose 10 spots in a matter of one lap.
"You can see the momentum coming in a line of cars and if there is enough room you can tell the driver to be prepared to cut into the break of cars. If the driver hesitates and then goes, that is what can cause a wreck and the spotter usually gets blamed. If the driver has been listening the whole time, they will cut in the line of cars because they trust you. If the driver doesn't trust you as much, then you have to find them a bigger hole to get into. The good drivers will get in the hole. They have seen it and are ready to jump in."
