Before hitting the track at Iowa Speedway this past weekend, Brandon Jones stopped by JELD-WEN’s window manufacturing plant in Grinnell, Iowa. The driver of the No. 33 JELD-WEN / Menards Chevrolet got an up-close look at how windows are made and then shipped to Menards stores across the country.
Jones visited with approximately 250 employees at JELD-WEN’s Grinnell window plant Friday afternoon during a BBQ lunch and autograph session. He fielded some questions from the employees and encouraged them all to come out to the track Saturday afternoon for the race.
Jones then toured the window plant, learning each step of the window-making process from cutting the glass to creating the frames.
The final stop on the tour showed how JELD-WEN packs each truck by hand to ensure the windows are transported with care. The truck shown below is one of many that JELD-WEN sends to Menards’ 306 stores. Later that weekend, Jones drove the No. 33 JELD-WEN / Menards Chevrolet to a top-10 finish at Iowa Speedway. JELD-WEN will return as the highlighted vendor on the No. 33 Menards Chevrolet for the NASCAR XFINITY Series’ trip to Road America later this month.
