Tyler Reddick and Kaz Grala Takeover Philadelphia with Xfinity Racing

This past Wednesday RCR NASCAR Xfinity Series drivers Tyler Reddick and Kaz Grala helped execute the fourth annual Xfinity Series Philadelphia Takeover. Reddick and Grala participated in multiple events all over the city to help promote the series, Comcast, and the upcoming Pocono Raceway and October Dover International Speedway race weekends.

Tyler Reddick kicked off his day by checking out the brand new Comcast Technology Center while one of RCR’s pit crews hung out by the No. 2 Alsco Chevrolet Camaro and interacted with fans passing by in the morning.

Kaz Grala got to visit the world-famous Geno’s Steaks and try his own Philly Cheesesteak.

The day hit a small snag when unfortunately the No. 2 Chevrolet Camaro Reddick was supposed to perform a smoke show in on the streets of Philly during the parade around City Hall suffered a mechanical failure, and Reddick was not able to perform in the parade.

The afternoon events featured a visit to the automotive shop at Swenson Arts and Technology High School and a trip to the Rocky steps and statue before concluding with a NASCAR Heat 3 gaming event with fans.

“It was a fun day getting to go all around Philadelphia and explore some of their famous landmarks,” said Reddick. “This is a great event that Xfinity, Pocono Raceway, Dover International Speedway and NASCAR put on every year to help promote the sport and its upcoming races. This was my first year attending, and it was so cool to meet all the fans that came out who may not get to interact with NASCAR up close like that as much as we do. I was devastated that I couldn’t perform the burnouts like I planned to, but we’ll just have to go back next year and make them twice as cool.”

“I had such a fun time at the Xfinity Takeover in Philly,” said Grala. “This was my second time being part of the event, and it was even better than last year. Comcast’s enthusiasm for our sport and commitment to always increase our reach is so cool. I always take the advantage of any opportunity to help them out and return the favor, so I’m already looking forward to seeing what they have in store for next year’s trip!”

The NASCAR Xfinity Series returns to the track next weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, May 25 before heading to Pocono Raceway the following Saturday on June 1.
