Reddick, Burnett Get the VIP Tour at Caterpillar’s HQ

In advance of the upcoming 2020 season, Tyler Reddick and crew chief Randall Burnett had the opportunity to tour and learn more about Caterpillar’s operations last week to help celebrate the longstanding partnership between the equipment manufacturer and RCR. The driver and crew chief of the No. 8 Caterpillar Chevrolet were able to see everything from the foundry where Caterpillar’s iron is poured to their Global R&D center before having the chance to operate Cat equipment for themselves.

The pair was also able to get up close to some of Caterpillar’s biggest equipment, the D11, when they explored the track type tractor assembly building. Reddick and Burnett were joined by the Schumacher family, Caterpillar Customers from Minnesota, for the VIP experience.

On the second day of their tour, Reddick and Burnett found themselves in a similar role to what they do at the race shop – running simulators! The two got to try their hand on a couple Caterpillar simulators to get familiar with the motions needed to operate Cat machinery before getting to try out the real thing.

Catch Reddick, Burnett and the No. 8 Caterpillar Chevrolet when the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series kicks off on Sunday, February 16, 2019 with the 62nd running of the DAYTONA 500.
