RCR Collaborates with Family of Partners to Produce Full-Face Shields for Frontline Workers

Richard Childress Racing has a long and storied history within the sport of NASCAR, building a reputation crafting high-performance, championship-winning race cars for some of the most recognizable drivers in the world. However, NASCAR championships and Daytona 500 wins pale in comparison to the heroic work frontline workers are doing right now.

During this unprecedented time, RCR has worked hard with its family of corporate partners to expand the team’s operations to include the production of personal protection equipment for frontline workers and other heroes. These workers are integral to helping in the fight against COVID-19, and together with our partners who have provided significant financial backing, RCR is honored to be able to make a donation of face shields to healthcare facilities across the country.

The full-face shields being produced came from a design created by Georgia Tech and are cut out on the team’s water jet machine that can generate between 200 to 500 face shields per day. The shields are then shipped to pre-determined healthcare facilities with instructions on the final steps of putting them together before they’re ready for use.

RCR and its partners have immense gratitude for everything these frontline heroes are doing for the world, day in and day out. Their sacrifice and courage during these tough times has not gone unnoticed.
