  • This year marks the 30th anniversary of Richard Childress Racing's first Southern 500 victory with Dale Earnhardt in the No. 3 Chevrolet.
  • Austin Dillon's No. 3 American Ethanol Chevrolet will carry the same color scheme as Dale Earnhardt's No. 3 Chevrolet when he went to Victory Lane at Darlington in 1987.
  • The No. 3 Richard Childress Racing team was a force to be reckoned with during the 1987 season earning 11 wins, 21 top-five and 24 top-10 finishes, and giving RCR its second Cup Series championship.
  • Ryan Newman's No. 31 Caterpillar Chevrolet will also honor the 1987 RCR paint scheme for this weekend's race at Darlington Raceway.
  • Austin Dillon's No. 2 Rheem Chevrolet in the NASCAR XFINITY Series will sport a throwback-inspired paint scheme with a vintage Rheem logo on the hood.
  • During 2002, Jeff Green drove the No. 21 Chevrolet to two wins, 12 top-five and 16 top-10 finishes, earned five pole awards and led nearly 700 laps for RCR in the NASCAR XFINITY Series.
  • Daniel Hemric's No. 21 Blue Gate Bank Chevrolet will honor Green's 2002 season with the familiar white and red colors.
  • Much of Brendan Gaughan's early NASCAR success came with the blue, red and yellow NAPA colors. With this scheme he won the NASCAR Winston West championship, had great success in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and made his Cup Series debut in Japan in 1998 with the NAPA paint scheme.
  • Brendan Gaughan's No. 62 Chevrolet will once again carry the NAPA colors this weekend at Darlington Raceway as a nod to his early days in NASCAR.
