One of the most prominent and successful personalities in motorsports, Kyle Busch is the driver of the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series. The 2026 season marks his fourth year racing under the RCR banner, and his 22nd year of fulltime competition in NASCAR’s top-touring division. Busch is paired with crew chief Jim Pohlman, and this year marks the duo’s first year working together.

Busch’s 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season was highlighted by top five finishes at Circuit of the Americas, the Chicago Street Race and Phoenix Raceway. Although a win and a playoff berth eluded the No. 8 team in 2024 and 2025, he secured a spot in NASCAR’s post-season in 2023, his 16th playoff appearance. In 2024, he notably made history as part of a historic three-wide finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway in February, finishing a mere 0.007 seconds behind the leader to post the third-closest finish in NASCAR history. All told, during his three seasons at RCR, Busch has earned three wins, 15 top-five finishes, 27 top-10 finishes and two pole awards.

Since making his NASCAR debut 22 years ago, Busch has grown into a successful driver, team owner and businessman, easily becoming one of the most accomplished drivers in NASCAR’s modern history. He owns 63 wins in the elite NASCAR Cup Series and is one of only three active multi-time champions. Busch held an all-time NASCAR record with 19 consecutive seasons with a victory from 2004-2023. Coupled with his brother, Kurt, the Busch brothers are the winningest brothers in NASCAR history.

In addition to his two Cup Series championships, the Las Vegas native won the 2009 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championship and is the all-time wins leader in that series (102) as well as the NASCAR Truck Series (67). As an owner, he led Kyle Busch Motorsports to 100 career victories and seven owner’s championships, both are Truck Series records.

He is the 2005 NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year and one of only seven drivers to earn multiple victories during their rookie season of competition.

Outside of the driver’s seat, Busch is active with his wife, Samantha, in the operation of The Samantha and Kyle Busch Bundle of Joy Fund benefiting in-need families struggling with infertility. The organization, founded in 2015 following the couple’s own infertility journey, provides financial grants to help offset the costs associated with IVF treatments.

A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Busch currently resides in Denver, NC. Married to Samantha, the couple has two children, Brexton and Lennix. Busch is active in his son Brexton’s racing career.
