TALLADEGA, AL -- Austin Hill scored his first pole award in the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Friday at Talladega Superspeedway. The No.21 Chevrolet driver clocked in on the 2.66-mile track with a 52.605 lap time, putting him in the front of the pack for Saturday's Spark 300.

Hill will add his pole award to his Rookie-of-the-Year season status, two wins, 11 top fives and 17 top-10 finishes. Hill said, “Everyone at RCR brought me a fast Bennett Transportation & Logistics Chevrolet and it just goes to show all of the hard work and dedication paying off with our pole run. Also, need to give a shout out to ECR for giving me some steam under the hood. RCR and ECR are the reason we were able to get the pole and I’m excited for what is to come in the race.”

The Sparks 300 will begin at 3:00 p.m. ET and can be watched on USA Network.
