One of the most prominent and successful personalities in motorsports, Kyle Busch is the driver of the No. 8 Chevrolet Camaro for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR Cup Series. The 2026 season marks his fourth year racing under the RCR banner, and his 22nd year of fulltime competition in NASCAR’s top-touring division. Busch is paired with crew chief Jim Pohlman, and this year marks the duo’s first year working together.
Busch’s 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season was highlighted by top five finishes at Circuit of the Americas, the Chicago Street Race and Phoenix Raceway. Although a win and a playoff berth eluded the No. 8 team in 2024 and 2025, he secured a spot in NASCAR’s post-season in 2023, his 16th playoff appearance. In 2024, he notably made history as part of a historic three-wide finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway in February, finishing a mere 0.007 seconds behind the leader to post the third-closest finish in NASCAR history. All told, during his three seasons at RCR, Busch has earned three wins, 15 top-five finishes, 27 top-10 finishes and two pole awards.
Since making his NASCAR debut 22 years ago, Busch has grown into a successful driver, team owner and businessman, easily becoming one of the most accomplished drivers in NASCAR’s modern history. He owns 63 wins in the elite NASCAR Cup Series and is one of only three active multi-time champions. Busch held an all-time NASCAR record with 19 consecutive seasons with a victory from 2004-2023. Coupled with his brother, Kurt, the Busch brothers are the winningest brothers in NASCAR history.
In addition to his two Cup Series championships, the Las Vegas native won the 2009 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championship and is the all-time wins leader in that series (102) as well as the NASCAR Truck Series (67). As an owner, he led Kyle Busch Motorsports to 100 career victories and seven owner’s championships, both are Truck Series records.
He is the 2005 NASCAR Cup Series Rookie of the Year and one of only seven drivers to earn multiple victories during their rookie season of competition.
Outside of the driver’s seat, Busch is active with his wife, Samantha, in the operation of The Samantha and Kyle Busch Bundle of Joy Fund benefiting in-need families struggling with infertility. The organization, founded in 2015 following the couple’s own infertility journey, provides financial grants to help offset the costs associated with IVF treatments.
A native of Las Vegas, Nevada, Busch currently resides in Denver, NC. Married to Samantha, the couple has two children, Brexton and Lennix. Busch is active in his son Brexton’s racing career.
Andy Street is the crew chief for Richard Childress Racing’s No. 8 Chevrolet driven by two-time champion Kyle Busch in the NASCAR Cup Series.
Street, whose career at RCR began in 2003, was the interim crew chief for the No. 8 Chevrolet and Busch for the final five Cup Series races of 2025. During their time together, Busch registered two top-10 finishes, including an eight-place result in their third race together in Las Vegas, and a fifth-place finish at season’s end in Phoenix, Arizona. Most recently, Street has been the performance director for RCR, focusing on research and development and increasing overall on-track performance across the company from January 2026 through April 2026.
The Kernersville, North Carolina native spent the 2022 through 2024 seasons as crew chief of the No. 21 Chevrolet with driver Austin Hill in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Together, the duo advanced to the NASCAR Playoffs three consecutive seasons, including a Final Four berth in 2024. All told, Street earned 10 race wins with Hill and was the winningest crew chief at RCR the past three seasons.
Prior to working with Hill, Street spent the 2021 season working with driver Myatt Snider in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Together, they won at Homestead-Miami Speedway and claimed 11 top-10 finishes enroute to a berth in the NASCAR Playoffs. During his first year as a crew chief for RCR, Street worked with a multi-driver lineup of Snider, Anthony Alfredo, Kaz Grala and Earl Bamber, earning five top-five finishes and a season-best third-place effort at Texas Motor Speedway with Alfredo.
In 2018 Street took a brief hiatus from NASCAR and the RCR organization to work as the co-crew chief for Tanner Gray in the National Hot Rod Association Pro Stock division, winning the division title before returning back to RCR.
Prior to his contributions to RCR’s NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series program, Street worked in a variety of positions at RCR, including team engineer and design engineer specializing in chassis and suspension systems. He played a vital role as team engineer within RCR’s Cup Series program, helping deliver success across the board. Most notably, Street worked with drivers Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer, combining to win 10 races. Street also played a key role in the team’s Research and Development program, which elevated the entire organization’s competition department. His career at RCR began in 2003.
Street competed in drag racing events while he was still in high school, earning his first win in 1996 at Farmington Dragway. He competed in the Sportsman Bracket program behind the wheel of a 1972 Chevrolet Nova and a 1981 Chevrolet Camaro.
Street earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of North Carolina Charlotte.
Street resides in Lexington, N.C. with his wife Lauren and children Addison and Andrew.
