The 2026 season marks Austin Hill’s fifth year driving the No. 21 Bennett Transportation & Logistics Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series. Chad Haney serves as crew chief.

During Hill’s four full seasons behind the wheel of the No. 21 Chevrolet, he qualified for the NASCAR Playoffs each season, earning a Championship 4 berth in 2024. He clinched the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series regular season championship in 2023. Hill is a 14-time winner in the Series, having earned multiple wins during each of his fulltime seasons at RCR.

During his tenure at RCR, Hill has been particularly notable on drafting-style tracks. His 10 drafting track wins eclipses previous records set by NASCAR Hall of Famers Dale Earnhardt and Tony Stewart, who each had eight victories on drafting tracks.

Hill made his NASCAR Cup Series debut for Richard Childress Racing at Michigan International Speedway in 2022, earning a respectable 18th-place finish. In 15 Cup Series starts, his best finish to-date is ninth at the Chicago Street Race in 2025.

Hill spent five full seasons in the NASCAR Truck Series and captured eight wins, 27 top five finishes, 52 top 10 finishes and three pole awards, qualifying for the playoffs three consecutive seasons (2019-2021). Hill notably earned the NASCAR Truck Series regular-season championship title in 2020.

Hill competed in the ARCA Menards Series East fulltime in 2014 and 2015. In that time, he tallied one pole, four wins, 12 top-five and 21 top-10 finishes.

Outside of racing, Hill is an avid hunter and University of Georgia Bulldogs fan.

Hill is a native of Winston, Georgia. Married to Ashlyn, the couple has two daughters, Lynnlee and Kensley, and a son, Barrett.

Chad Haney is the crew chief for the No. 21 Chevrolet in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series with driver Austin Hill. 2026 marks the Fairmont, West Virgina native’s second year paired with Hill. He brings to the role more than 30 years of professional motorsports experience.

In their first year paired together in 2025, Haney guided Hill and the No. 21 team to four race wins, including three on drafting-style tracks to help Hill surpass the record for wins on drafting tracks set by NASCAR Hall of Famers Dale Earnhardt and Tony Stewart. In addition to drafting wins at Atlanta Motor Speedway (February) and Talladega Superspeedway (April and October), Haney guided Hill to a short track win at Martinsville Speedway in March. In all, the No. 21 team earned 13 top-five finishes, 18 top-10 finishes and finished fourth in the owner’s point standings.

Haney has worked as a car chief and mechanic at the highest levels of the sport, including stints as a car chief in the NASCAR Cup Series for drivers such as Aric Almirola, Clint Bowyer, Kurt Busch, Austin Dillon and Kevin Harvick. Haney’s resume includes victories at some of NASCAR’s most prestigious races, including a Daytona 500 win with Busch in 2017 and a Coca-Cola 600 win with Harvick in 2011. He was part of the team that returned the No. 3 Chevrolet to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2014 with Dillon, notably sitting on the pole for that year’s Daytona 500.

Haney’s career at RCR first began in 2005, but beginning in 2015, he took an eight-year hiatus from the team to work as a car chief at Stewart-Haas Racing. Haney also worked for Kevin Harvick, Inc. as a crew chief for Harvick’s short track racing endeavors during his leave from RCR.

From 2014-2009, Haney was a car chief at RCR in the NASCAR Cup Series, working with Dillon (2015, 2014), Harvick (2013, 2012), and Bowyer (2011, 2010, 2009). Prior to his Cup career, Haney was a car chief in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series with the No. 2 Chevrolet driven by Bowyer (2008, 2006) and the No. 29 Chevrolet driven by Jeff Burton and Scott Wimmer (2007). He started at RCR as a front-end mechanic for the No. 21 Chevrolet driven by Harvick and Brandon Miller in the O’Reilly Auto Parts Series in 2005.

A racer himself, Haney spent several years honing his skills as a dirt late model racer before giving up the steering wheel for a wrench. He was a crew chief in the dirt late model world working for Rocket Chassis before moving to North Carolina to pursue a career in NASCAR in 2004. A love of motorsports came early for Haney, who started going to dirt tracks with his father as a young child. Those early experiences led to his first job in the sport, working on dirt cars when he was just 15 years old.

Haney spends his free time helping his son, a two-time champion, race quads.
